I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
