Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then located many other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Police report early analysis show the liquid was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to where it came from; authorities are currently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the incident," they stated.
Local authorities said they were trying "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for tips.
An important representative commented the vandalism made him speechless and required to be addressed quickly.
"This event hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, referring to the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
